Xhosa flower essence—“white ways/white paths” (also known as African Dream Root)—is a plant native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where it is regarded by the Xhosa people as sacred. Its root has been traditionally used to invite vivid (and, according to the Xhosa, prophetic) dreams. This is the essence form, so none of the alkaloids traditionally associated with the root are present.
